PIRATES NEWSLETTER
- MAY 2001
Well hello - it's Tony and Bev here, your producers for The Broadway
Pirates, and we are really looking foward to starting.
It is a fantastic fun show both to perform and watch, and we hope
you will all come and join us.
To launch the show we are holding a preview evening on Tuesday 5
June at the Community Centre in Easemore Road starting at 7.30pm.
This will be a social evening where we hope all members, potential
members, and interested parties will gather. There will be a chance
to see clips from the movie version of the show, to hear some of
the music and to hear our ideas. The libretto and score are the faithful
G&S versions, but with exciting new orchestrations, high kicking
pirates, keystone cops and lots of added jokes and pies!!!
If you are coming as somebody who has expressed an interest to join
the show, please pop along. We are very friendly and always on the
lookout for fresh talent. There is no obligation to take part - this
is just a taster session.
Nibbles and cakes will be available, thanks to both our incoming
and outgoing committee members (don't forget you lot!) and any other
members who could bring some refreshments. You could even win an
extra great raffle prize!
I have heard a great buzz about the show already, and I think it's
not only going to fill the theatre, but will also be a real hoot
to rehearse as well as a chance to have a real good sing.
So forget the election (zzzzzzz) and come along for a good chat,
a bite to eat, and the chance to learn all about the Broadway Pirates
2001.
See you there xxx
