Spring Events 2026

We have organised five social events for our Members and Friends of ROS this year, and we hope you will be able to join us for as many of these as possible. Don’t forget – family and friends are most welcome, too. As always, all events are subsidised by the society.

This year’s events are:

Tue 10 March 2026 7.30pm – Vocal Workshop

Members/Friends £5 each | Non-Members £7

More details

Conducted for us by professional singer and vocal coach with over 35 years’ experience, Emma Winscom, this will be a hugely valuable session that will benefit all members, regardless of experience, and whether you attended last year’s workshop or not. We will cover areas such as warm up techniques revisited; effort and what that means; ways to maintain vocal energy and avoid fatigue; hearing yourself in a group; finding the fullest voice; exploring abdominal release; repertoir suitability; sound with movement and, time permitting, a Q&A session.

Run by Emma Winscom BA (Hons), LTCL, F Mus Ed TCL, FISM.

Soft drinks and biscuits/cakes will be provided during the break.

Yes, that’s right! Let’s put together the world famous and massively iconic ‘zombie’ dance routine from Michael Jackson’s ‘Thriller’. Huge fun for everyone, regardless of dance ability. All welcome. Zombie make-up not required!

Tue 31 March 2026 7.30pm – A Christmas Carol Movie Night

Members/Friends £4 each | Non-Members £5

More details

Come and see a recording of the dress rehearsal from our November production of A Christmas Carol. Whether you were in the show or not, we can all enjoy seeing the talented cast perform from the audience’s point-of-view – something we rarely get the chance to see. Remember, it was the dress rehearsal, so it won’t be perfect, and there might be the odd mistake… but that’s all part of the fun!

Cinema-style snacks including hotdogs, popcorn, sweets and soft drinks will be provided during the break.

Astwood Bank Primary School

Tue 7 April 2026 7.30pm – Indian Meal

Members/Friends £18 each | Non-Members £20

More details

Come and enjoy a slap-up Indian meal amongst friends. The deal includes poppadom + starter + main meal + rice/naan/chips, and you’ll be able to choose practically anything from the menu! Drinks not included, but you can either buy yours at the restaurant or bring your own. We had a great meal here last year, and were very well looked after, so we are delighted to make a return visit.

Shahi Palace, 66 Unicorn Hill, Redditch (opposite Bus Station)
