Our Next Show – Evita

Tuesday 16 to Saturday 20 November 2021

Redditch Operatic Society presents Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s legendary musical Evita.

The story follows the life of peasant girl Eva ‘Evita’ Duarte as she arrives in Buenos Aires. Using her sexuality to climb the social ladder she eventually meets and marries President-to-be Juan Peron.

Driven by unbounded ambition and a desire to be a world figure, she becomes a propaganda machine for Peron. Hated by the rich and powerful, but adored by the workers and peasants, we witness the battles and triumphs of her rise to become the most famous Argentine woman in history.

Featuring songs such as ‘Oh, What a Circus’, ‘Another Suitcase in Another Hall’, ‘Rainbow High’, ‘You Must Love Me’ and the signature song ‘Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina’ this powerful new production of one of theatre’s most famous musicals is coming to the Palace Theatre for the very first time.

Performances at 7.30pm nightly.
Matinee performance on Sat 20 November 2021 at 2.30pm
