Redditch Operatic Society is extremely proud of its support of local good causes. In fact, in the past two decades the Society has generated over £26,000 in donations to individual appeals or from the profits of our concert tours.

In 2009, as well as donations in memory of departed friends Margaret Rea, Mavis Yates and John Emms, we made a special £250 donation of sporting equipment to Special Olympics Redditch.

Special Olympics is an all year round national and international programme of sports training and competitions. Their aim is to support the development, help build the confidence and encourage the participation in new sporting skills of people with varying special needs.

The Redditch group meets on Monday evenings at Trinity High School. Any visitors or new members are welcome. For information on Special Olympics Redditch contact Elaine Daykin on 01527 542831.

ROS are delighted to support such a worthy local cause, and made this special donation as part of our golden anniversary celebrations.

Our President and his wife, Alan and Jean Leadbeater, went along to present the equipment to the group. In the photograph you can see (left to right) Stacey Everill, Richard Daykin, Laurie Brookes, Chris Finch, Rachelle Darling and Kevin Holloway receiving some of their new sporting equipment from Jean and Alan Leadbeater.
